I have been coming to HMC for about nine years. I attended the Purpose Driven Life book study through HMC after being coaxed by my sister to attend. I agreed to “try it,” became enamored by the acceptance and authenticity of the people, and the rest is history. In the past, I struggled with how to have a true relationship with God. Through worship, fellowship, Bible studies, observing and sharing at HMC, I am happy to say I now have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior. It is with the help of a loving, caring and understanding congregation that I continue my journey along with them and am blessed to be able to do so.
Time alone with God soothes my soul as well as being in nature. I am passionate about making a difference in others lives. Whether offering a simple kindness or helping in a more substantial way, it gives me great joy when I am able to do that. It’s important for me to have a purpose and feel that I am contributing to and paying back to my friends and family, AND strangers who are just friends who I haven’t met yet. Until recently I have always worked with medical records and reports, ensuring that a patient’s information was being accurately and correctly documented. I am currently unemployed and will soon be completing schooling for Microsoft Office Suite and Quick Books, hopefully enabling me to offer my learned skills in a new job! I am head of the Greeters/Welcome Team Committee, also part of the Leadership Team, and enjoy lending a helping hand as my skills and abilities allow.
